	How the Drag Mat Option Works on our Grooming Machines


	When traveling on and off the field the drag mat is rolled and carried by our exclusive drag mat brackets.


	Once on the infield the mat is rolled out behind the groomer and the brackets pull the drag mat while grooming.


	Each mat is fitted with a steel square tube at the front edge for added strength and so it locks into our exclusive drag mat carry & pull brackets.


	Each kit includes specially designed Drag Mat Brackets. They mount to the Rear Broom to carry and pull the drag mat. The brackets include locks to hold the drag mat in place. Locks operate without tools so the mat can be removed in seconds when desired.


	How do I know if I need the Drag Mat Option? Our testing has shown that the drag mat is most beneficial when breaking up a hard infield. This process naturally creates chunks of material which the broom alone may not totally pulverize. This is where a noticeable difference can be seen.

Different Widths of Drag Mats (PR72 & AS72) used behind our groomers so customer can decide if the want the drag mat to overlap the ends of the broom or be flush with the ends of the broom. Normally, customers who use the groomer on baseball fields with grass on part of the infield will use the 72" mat (same width as broom) because they intend to groom the base paths and a wider mat requires the base paths to be wider (not always desirable) ...so they tend to use the narrower 72" mat. In contrast, those with skin infields (no grass) such as softball infields tend to more often choose the 78" mat width because it allows them the flexibility of mounting the mat in the brackets so both ends of the mat overlap the broom by the same amount, or they can overlap only one end and have the other end flush, etc.
Drag Mat Width (MG72) Specifications: Broom is 72" Wide. Wheel Base is 84" Wide.
Customer can choose any width of mat (72", 78" or 84") but the recommended width is 84" so it covers wheel tracks.

Note: Since the MG72 has a wider wheel base of 84" we now offer a 84" drag mat. Customer can choose any width of mat (72, 78 or 84) but only the 84" mat will cover the wheel tracks.
Includes: Drag Mat, Steel Tube installed on front edge, Drag Mat Brackets with locks and Hardware.
Your Choice of Width of Drag Mat (All are 36" Deep)
Widths Recommended for MG72:
84" Wide (Extends 6" beyond broom at each end or can be mounted offset either direction).
Note: The Drag Mat option is not recommended for the MG72-s" Standard Duty Cylinder style electric lift systems. The added weight of the drag mat may exceed the recommended carrying weight of the standard duty electric cylinder.
